I am beginning to believe that we must now consider avoiding, at all costs, an expansion of the War On Terror in the Mideast. That may be hard to do. Wars have a natural tendency to expand and grow.

The War on Terror will continue and is likely to expand, as you predict.

The war in Iraq is elective and we have to find a graceful exit strategy. We do not have to compound that error. That is not a war we can afford.

Iraq is not about to invade us.
