Someone explain to me how the red areas are predominantly poor vote overwhelming Republican and yet Bush panders to the wealthy elite that live in primarily blue urban coastal areas? And further the stock market has been a disaster since GWB is in office (no that it is totally his fault) so the losses to the elite more than offset the tax cuts. I'm sure many of his constituents are also pleased to find out the money they've been earning 1-2% the past 2-3 yrs due to AG and GWB has helped fueled excess misallocation of capital into incredible speculation into real estate in the blue areas. And what gives with Texas real estate still down in the dumps even with record oil prices even though it is Bush's home state? Are the conservatives in the heartland starting to finally realize all this government intervention from imposing our will on Iraq, Terri Schiavo, creation of a bogus new socialized ownership society and borrow and spend fiscal irresponsibility are not the values many of them cherish? In the end if we go into a depression the abortion issue will be the least of our problems.
