I think you have mischaracterized JimP's contributions to this board. He's been upfront with his trades and seems to have made quite a bundle.

Just because he chose to sit out the recent rally in energy stocks and spend his time chasing women does not mean he's unqualified to assess this market.

Maybe his style and valuation metrics are different than a lot of posters here. That is what spices up the soup.

Having read what they have written I tend to partially disagree. I see few signs of pride from Slider (compared to the old days) and none from Jim. Jim has been through numerous cycles and Slider has been through at least one major one. In the past month they are recognizing and verbalizing the (rather clear) signals that the cycle is topping. We have

Media hyping like mad
Rig counts and dayrates going through the roof
energy stock prices shooting up to all time highs
Jim Cramer saying buy
Analysts saying "buy, Buy, BUY!!!"
People talking about peak oil...again
everyone saying "It IS different this time"

These are all signals of the top. The responses they have been getting have been mostly unreceptive to their warnings.
