For some time there were rumours that seemed to be emanating from the IMR camp that a settlement with AQI would be reached.
So when the News Release from IMR came out on February 11, offering AQI $100,000 to settle, I was surprised at the strategy of such a ludicrous amount. Apparently they were in the process of discovery which made this insult offer an even greater tactical error to my mind. Here is the NR from IMR:

Not surprisingly, AQI never responded with a NR of their own. I cannot recall the comment( told to me by an exploration co exec) made by Mr Henderson of AQI in a media interview but it was a rather wittily delivered insult to IMR. I get the impression from the majority of people I know in the business and discussed this with that AQI is regarded as a predator in this situation with a desire for obtaining rewards they are not entitled to. In short the Grosso group/IMR have a much better reputation. However, none of that gossip is relevant to the merits of the case in a court of law.

One can only assume that IMR's offer was intended to be a deliberate public declaration of IMR's disgust with AQI's integrity, or rather, lack thereof. I am with you Claude, I very much doubt there will be an out of court settlement.
