The interpretation I had of the spending comments was that the author was not letting Republicans off the hook for fiscal excess. Perhaps he meant to be ambiguous. It is interesting though that for all of the hay being made by Democrats never includes mention of the massive fraud perpetrated by Democrats in their redistricting, and their suppressing the will of Texans and keeping their Gerrymandering in place after 2000.

He didn't go into detail but he did mention the Democrats gerrymandering in 1991.

Maybe this article is what passes for hard driving, investigative reporting in TX but for the rest of us, it seems like a mild slap on the wrist.........in fact, more a heads up to Delay. He spends more time explaining away Delay's missteps than anything else.

For what it is worth, I am against Gerrymandering. Draw contiguous districts every time.

I am not a fan of it either.

I look forward to resolving in a court whether Tom DeLay is unethical or conducted himself illegally. Innuendo by politically motivated media outlets is offensive unless editorial disclaimer is appropriately issued.

Yes, you are right. I have a feeling where there is smoke that there really is fire in this case. The way he spoke to the Israelis when he went to Jerusalem last year suggests a man who has become a bit arrogant and a little heady with power.
