We did that too. There were 2 incidents with my daughter. The first was a candy bar about 4 and a purse when she was about 5. We were at a walmart doing some shopping and I went outside to smoke and my daughter wanted to come with me. After we were outside, I looked down at her and she looked pregnant. I checked her out and she had shoved a little girl purse up under her dress. I took her in the store and the manager told me if they caught her, they would have arrested me. Apparently some people put their kids up to stealing stuff. My son was bad about fire when he was little. The worst time he burned about a 1x2 foot patch of carpet in his room. He could have burned the house down. I think limited use of spanking before kids can understand concepts is a way to get the idea across when something is criminal or dangerous. btw, I never spanked my daughter, my wife took charge there. * * *
