Lexar Awarded $84 Mln Damage from Toshiba

SAN JOSE, Calif. (Reuters) - A California jury awarded memory chip maker Lexar Corp.(Nasdaq:LEXR - news) $84 million in punitive damages from Japan's Toshiba Corp.(6502.T) on Thursday in trial over Lexar's claims Toshiba stole its trade secrets.


The San Jose jury on Wednesday had awarded Lexar more than $380 million in damages and considered the punitive award separately on Thursday.

Sam, was back in the states last week and bought a half dozen SanDisk MP3 players...

...including 4 x 1 gigabyte (silver) and 2 x 1 gigabyte (blue) models for the kids
and relatives here on the other side of the pond.

A lot of technology packed into a tiny kit that weighs less than the AAA battery that runs it.

The LCD screen is tiny, so I will probably need bifocals to run the thing. Now it makes
sense why Apple left the LCD screen off the shuffle. At some point the miniature size
of the device creates a lower limit of functionality for the player's LCD.
