Saddam had the chance to spare his country the invasion. Bush said he wouldn't invade if Saddam stepped down. Saddam didn't take it. According to his later testimony and that of his officials, Saddam was counting on the French and Russians to save him from the actual invasion.

LOL...I remember he gave Saddam till high noon to ride out of town...That was no real offer to Saddam, it was a kick in the shin before a kick in the ass.

Let's see the link to the supposed French connection...and from Russia with love. I think you make up stuff.

How do you spare a country from the same group of blood thirsty Sunni muslims that were running the country in the first place? They enjoyed their position of power to kill, rape, and plunder any and all resources that were made available to them. They continue the same pattern of behavior today. Too bad we get all the blame.
