Exactly, on both counts. Were I a judge, I'd refuse to kill her unless it were legal to do it "humanely," no matter the best guesses of scientists and doctors concerning her condition and abilities. If ya believe there is nothing "there" in her, then what's the big deal if we let her live? If there IS something "there" in her, then it seems important to be sure to abide by her wishes, if we can establish them.

Here, we can't establish her wishes, just those of her Husband. Hmmm..
