Wow, John Edwards is talking about the need for the public to save money too!

"So today we are going to talk about how we can help families save and put money in the bank. We will explore ideas like establishing savings accounts for children at birth, like baby bonds, to help them prepare for the future. We'll also look at different types of savings accounts for adults with matching funds to encourage people to save. "

[ This is indeed a good sign. ]

There is no comparison. Both countries had suffered catastrophic bombing by the allies. Its people were devastated. They had suffered huge population losses. Iraq is a cakewalk by comparison.

Iraq is obviously no cakewalk. If it were, we would have left by now.

I repeat......by comparison, Iraq was a cakewalk. It took 5 years and all the major nations of the world working in unison to topple the gov'ts of Germany and Japan. It took two weeks in Iraq with mainly the US doing the job.

Iraq will take just as long as Germany and Japan, or longer.

Because of some very serious mistakes made after Saddam's gov't fell.

We're at year 2 right now.

No, year 3.

Expect this year and the next to be part of the equation. I'd like to see us draw down toops by 2006 and that is looking more and more possible now that Iraqi troops are having some successes, but it would be foolish for anyone to think Iraq will be fixed faster than Germany or Japan was.

Again.whether it does or doesn't is not the point. I want American troops out of there asap. JF reminds the right on this thread that its liberals who are supposed to be into nation building. Well, I am liberal and I would never endorse this kind of nation building. Its a complete farce.

Nope! Its time to bring our troops home! And Iraq can go to hell for all I care!

Ted sticking purple stained index finger up his arse!
