It is just amazing what attracts the human mind and the Press and the Politicians.
What a marvelous amount of speculation, of speeches, of politicians fighting to prove they "care" more than anyone about the plight of even the least of their citizens.
Weeks of discussion of the Schiavo case, when 100 Iraqi terrorists are killed or captured, while 4 men are killed and 100's injured in Texas, while Iran is (probably) building a nuclear bomb. While hundreds die in Chinese coal mines.
Exclude the money, exclude the attorneys, exclude the politicians, and Schiavo would have been long forgotten as just another of millions of unfortunate humans.

Why not concentrate their concern for weeks of discussion on one single Aids sufferer who is awake and aware and in pain and is doomed even after spending every cent for medicine that can delay the fatal day.
That kind of discussion could produce something really useful which could save millions by preventing the spread of aids or even of flu.

What a waste that politicians, reporters and writers should waste their brilliant minds (?) talking about someone who is asleep and cannot be cured, instead of finding ways to prevent such tragedies in the future.
We really care about each human life, now lets get back to work and subsidize a new auto plant for our State that will produce another million vehicles to kill or maim the people
who buy gas from our oil fields. Add that appropriation to the budget bill.
