re: The MDs involved with the case have said repeatedly she will not feel anything. Given her lack of reaction to the feeding tube, I am inclined to believe them. Since she is in Hospice, it's almost certain she is being given very effective pain drugs. Yes, I hadn't thought of that. I realized last nite that part of the problem in this dispute is that we are not a people who accepts dying easily. We have been accustomed to putting people on life support and keeping them alive for years that way. The actual experience of dying is mostly hidden from us. Unfotunately, dying is all too common. ted
