I think the answer is also a question: how long does it take to build another fab?

I think the interesting thing about pricing in the next few quarters will be to see the effect, if any, of Samsung's MLC coming into the market.

If Samsung's clients, using SLC, could compete against Sandisk using MLC (with Lexar losing some $ but the Taiwanese companies presumably profitable), then what happens when they all go MLC? What I would worry about is that Samsung's SLC was less than twice as expensive as MLC, and therefore Samsung's MLC may be less expensive to make than Sandisk / Toshiba's MLC. By the way, Sandisk's recent 10-K expresses the same concern -- but of course it's not easy to tell which concerns in a 10-K are real and which are stretched.
