Your post is long and thoughtful, but I have the flu and cannot really give it the kind of focus I would like to right now. It would be helpful to arrive at agreement about core libertarian beliefs, because we are really discussing something that is very formless if we don't, and I don't think that is a satisfying debate.

For example, I believe that eliminating public education and Social Security are basic tenets of libertarianism, as well as not having national health coverage. Can you convince me that they are not, and instead outline what are the basic tenets, so we are at least discussing the same political philosophy?
