Personally, I bet if the truth were known there are as many Democrats in that crowd as Republicans. I dont consider this a POLITICAL issue but as you state a MORAL one. jdn

I doubt that the Pope really said anything about it because of his waning condition, but that the statement was written, and delivered, by the Cardinal in waiting,

I think the Pope, like all heads of state, has his statements prepared by his staff. But what the church said was consistent with their views, IMO. What a kerfuffle!
