Yeah, pretty amazing. In Tim's universe if he got a cut in pay and had to move into a tent it would be to much spending that altered his lifestyle.

A better analogy is if I recieved smaller pay increases for a few years in a row, and my expenses increased greatly, so I had to sell my house.

If I got a pay cut I would be making less dollars than I used to make. The federal government is not taking in less dollars than it used to take in.

The fact that the % of GDP the Feds get in tax revenue means that the burden of federal taxes is lower, but it does not have to mean that revenue is lower, and in this case revenue is not lower (although it was for a couple of years, it is not anymore)
