Well, nobody is insisting on "husband notification" for abortion, or if they are, I haven't heard of it. Nor are they demanding parental notification for women past the age of minority. It is strange and disconcerting that no other non-emergency medical procedure can be performed on a child without the parent's knowledge. Why should't the default be the same as for any other medical procedure, that the parents know about it and are involved in the process?
