It's truly odd, I know people who are quite sanguine about Bush. They dislike him, they're moderate to liberal in their views but they have such tremendous faith in the American 'system' that they think this too will pass. They are living foolishly and have no grasp of history. Things will eventually 'right' themselves but what happens in the meantime? We were watching Gosford Park the other night. Actually, we were watching it with the writer's commentary. That period of time wasn't that long ago and the Bushies and their ilk remember it fondly and are recreating it with the help of the most corrupt government and dumbest electorate ever.
