I find these bloggers to be interesting and hopeful, but not representative of Iraqis in general. Anecdotal reports from a mostly insular Baghdad.


Well that's a definite improvement from declaring that "if they don't hate the Americans they must be CIA plants". However, you didn't notice that Iraqi bloggers' views are quite diverse and several are not in Baghdad at all. Star in Mosul is written by a 16 year old named Naima who has her whole family blogging. Furthermore, if you listened to the bloggers you were a lot less surprised by the elections results than if you listened to the MSM.

Anecdotal evidence mostly from Baghdad beats Anectodal pack reporting mostly from the bars inside the Green Zone, I guess.

BTW, there are decent poll results coming out of Iraq these days, which are not anecdotal. In the last poll, Iraqis said their country was 'on the right track' by about 60% to 40%.
