Cinema owners in America's 'Bible Belt' have axed plans to show a new IMAX movie about VOLCANOes because they fear references to evolution might offend Christians.

Theatre bosses in the southern states claim some regulars will be upset by connections between human DNA and microbes inside undersea VOLCANOes that are made in the film VOLCANOES OF THE DEEP SEA.

IMAX theatres in Texas, Georgia and North and South Carolina have decided not to show the film, which is due for release next month (APR05).
