That video clip is five years old, Ish. If you saw a full video of Terri, she moans sometimes when people touch her, her eyes dart around the room, she moves around unpredictably on occasion. That little tiny few seconds was taken and snipped out to misrepresent Terri's functioning. I listened to an interview with her court-appointed guardian, who is an attorney. He was an objective third party, appointed by the court to represent her interests. He would sit in her room, talking to her, for long periods of time, trying to see if there was a Terri left in her body. He couldn't establish any sense at all that there was. Her brain was essentially liquified when she had the cardiac arrest. Her EEG is flat; she has no brain function. What that little video clip did was take advantage of the one time in fifty that her automatic and meaningless movements coincide with something that is happening in the room.

Her husband didn't take her parents out of her life. They visit with her all the time. Everything that is happening is court ordered, to make sure that it is fair. The doctors who are treating her are going by court-ordered instructions, as well.
