I haven't been doing the research, but I've heard that given the appeals process, it usually taks about 5 million bucks to kill a dude, and that's about 10 times the cost of the stats you cited for a life sentence... and if you take away the appeals process (like Texas has been trying to do), you make our country that much more barbaric. But its good for the US legal and employment system by keeping a large amount of lawyers off the streets and jobless polls. Taro
