GMO crops do not end up feeding more people. That is a myth that Monsanto wants you to believe. Conventional agriculture poisons the land and people and causes horrible erosion. One the topsoil is gone--no crops!!! I have published post after post about sustainable agriculture here, with all sorts of articles and websites included. If you want to read them you could do a thread search. I have the flu and am about to go back to bed, so I don't feel like doing that myself at the moment.
