notes from Iran: Climbed a rooftop site to have a look at Tehran from that point of view. A 3ft black satellite dish hidden from the eyes below pointed to the sky. Satellite TV is forbidden here.

I looked around and could see many rooftops with the same black dish. And this is South Tehran where people are poorer and more traditional.

The waitress of the Thai Restaurant in my hotel flirted and chatted openly with me yesterday!! I thought they would be more reserved. This place is surprising me.

The drivers are worse than the Nigerians!!! Incredible!!

I drove eastwards and a whole building side had a Star and Stripes painted. Ten floors high! A bomb droping from each stripe. Above it is written: Down With the USA!!

Farsi sounds like Czech. The people are white. Asked one civil engineer if they are Aryans, where they come from. He said from Russia. Spread to Europe, across Kazakstan, Turkmenistan, reaching India and here.

The dilapidadted infrastructure reminds as well of the outskirts of Czech, Pilzen or any Czecg town not upgraded and modernized like Prague. Looks like they were modern once. Then stopped in time.
