There are excesses in every religion. There are excesses in every nation.

I'm sure you could look around you and see hypocrisy rampant in government right outside your hovel, and in local religious practices that approach superstition.

This is a thread about politics and choice and clearly those who wage jihad because of religion are fanatics and most dangerous to democratic government. You bring up issues of fanaticism but these do not rise to the level of terror and jihad. Of course, you wish to bring them up to show that Jews are as bad or perhaps worse than crazed Islamic fundamentalists. You'd probably do the same with issues of Christian fundamentalism but then, of course, you would offend Emile. It's simply a fact that the level of and the action upon fanaticism in both Christianity and Judaism is not nearly the threat to society today as is Jihaddist fundamentalism. This is not to defend any religious fanaticism but to point out that the bigots on this thread have misplaced their priorities. But, of course, that is no surprise.

===> "Krüger dislikes being called a Jew, not because he is anti-Semitic but because he does not feel Jewish." <===

Just like you deny your heritage, Krüger has the right to deny his.

I, on the other hand, love my Jewish heritage. It is a heritage for which there is much jealousy. You, for instance, feel compelled to constantly post about Jews. What is remarkable about your obsession, is that Jews represent one of the smallest minorities on this planet, but get the most attention, both good and bad.

===> "Krüger believes that he is just Helmut Krüger, born a German not by choice but by chance to a German-Jewish mother who, like many Jews, assimilated and shed her Jewishness to integrate fully into the dominant society." <===

Krüger can deny his Jewish heritage, but he still benefits from it genetically. As a Jew, even though he denies it, he will still greatly benefit from skills that were passed down to him in his blood line.

Jews have been extraordinarily beneficial to this world, and especially to the US, in medical research, cures for diseases, music, movies, literature, education, science, government, etc.

Even if ALL Jews denied their heritage, like Krüger, their beneficial skills would still be available for everyone to enjoy.
