That column might have had an impact then.

There is nothing that could have been done last week that would have had an impact. When you have a problem and the law isn't on your side, the way to take care of the problem is to change the law. Everything else is doomed to failure.

I saw Bobby Schindler on TV today speaking to the protesters and was relieved to see that he was redirecting their focus towards changing the law.

No, it wouldn't have changed anything, any more than our discussions here have changed anything. But at least our discussions here have clarified the various situations that could come up for all of us, and hopefully helped us deal with our own wishes, if we haven't already.
