Both viruses are of the same class. There are strain differences that correlate with transmission and fatality rate. One year Ebola was present in to adjacent countries and the fatality rate was twice as high in one than the other.

Marburg is still killing at 100%. Its demographics seem to have changed in the past few weeks, so now more adults are dying, but still kills 100% of those infected
