Excellent summary.. It was felt ceo of mobil went begging for Raymond to take over Mobil.. he got a bundle. a Few managers maintained their position but most of mobil team got ignored and later retired or put aside. I do not know what the financial situation was at mobil at the time but some financial guys i talked with said it was a give away.

The savings in the merger were way understated and i believe for political purposes they really didn't want to publish the enormous savings.

xon appears to be very old school , well run , management team. They take their time before moving forward on major projects. I enjoy watching Raymond in an interview. It gives me the feeling he hates every minute of exposure.
