This is not going to change your mind

Of course it's not. The military released a report of ACCUSATIONS of possible deaths of prisoners due to actions by guards. Nobody has been convicted of it. Friedman took these facts and exaggerated it up to:

But killing prisoners of war, presumably in the act of torture, is an inexcusable outrage

He had no basis for saying this other than his desire to attack our military.

Now you exaggerate it to "They were tortured to death."

You should be more careful in your statements, IMO.

MC, And just what do you think would have happened to any American's that were captured by those heathen fanatics?? I'm sure you have seen where they enjoy chopping off a human being's head, even when they are not combatants. It is obvious that you have no idea on what war is all about. Simply spoken, like done so by Patton, is to kill those bastards before they kill you. The people we are fighting in Iraq, wear no uniforms, no indication of rank, abide by no restrictions on warfare, and are not entitled to the protection of the Geneva Accords. They are boils on the butt of the world, and should be treated as such.
