Canada is hardly a power but given the state of discord, language issues, issues of socialism v business, from what I understand they face many of the same issues with respect to corruption and inefficiency. The mining industry could be discussed for hours and, in fact, you will find much here on SI. Issues of strip mining with the government giving in to business have created a mini-industry on both sides. In Montreal, I'm told corruption is rampant. Bottom line - it's always easy for others to blame and point fingers. Very difficult to be constructive and add something positive.
