The bird's fecal matter is everywhere. This is why chickens were the first to go, they peck at everything. So the asian country's have netted off the coops so no wild birds can fly in. The H5N1 cases now are taking place in rural areas where a farmer may have 10 chickens in his yard. A bird gets sick and dies, but the farmer will still handle the dead bird and eat it. Plus, human to human tansmition is not a thought, it is a reality. There are many cases of human to human transmission, but it is still hard to catch. The vrius is mutating and the fear is that it will mutate into a form that is easily tansmisable...
