There's sure no sales tax on home sales in CA or NV, and I doubt that's true in WA either.....

Sure hasn't put a damper on home sales here. The total sales tax is usually between 8% and 9% as there is a local component of the sales tax that is added to the 6.5% mentioned. .........If you build a new home, there is usually cost to extend services - even additional cost to schools for instance. It's not a bad tax and it is fair. Much more so than our convoluted stupid federal income tax.
