Hey Clappy! I just walked in from work. Long day. Let me settled in tonight and I'll try to reply.

You always have such good timing. When I left out this morning and was watching the blue birds, I was thinking I needed to give everyone a blue bird nest report.

Later Dude.....

Hello Clappy and all!

I hope everyone had a super Easter! We sure did. Spent Easter with close friends in the city. A tradition for our three families to get together. As we get older, in recent years we've seen the kids go off to college and we wonder how many will make it back for the day. Like that ole saying about an apple not falling far from the tree, they all made it back home, even if just for the day.

Clappy, the shop is going great. I was just out there and my son was replacing the brakes on a friend's car. They had just finished and were going for a test drive.

My son has a friend's truck torn down in there now. It's John Deer green, beat all up, and they've been doing body work while the engine is rebuilt. I am amazed at what they do out there. I had no idea my youngest was so talented with mechanics and engines. I guess that's why he is going into mechanical engineering in college next year.

Anyway, they have the bed of the truck off, the engine pulled, the side panels and interior stripped and it's all laying everywhere out there! When I was out there a minute ago, I told the shop rats that I was going to be like Paul Senior in American Chopper and start yelling to clean everything up! I'm a nut about organization and keeping things in order and clean. (g)

So, Clappy, that "airplane hanger" garage has proven to be one of the best investments I ever made.

Oh, did I tell you they have a pool table out there? One end of the shop has a pool table, dart board, TV, Stereo, all those games kids play, two sofas, refrigerator, I mean.... it's the hang out. They keep adding stuff. If they see something cheap, they get it. They've got it made. They installed red undercar lights on the pool table so it will look "neat" when they play. (g)

Critters? Well, we've been worried about our blue birds. We usually have eggs by now and up until a few days ago, they had not even started their nest. We saw momma and papa flying around out front where their bird house is but we were afraid they had built somewhere else. Well, a few days ago we saw them collecting stuff and taking it in the house, so we ought to have eggs any day. They'll lay one per day. I don't know how many years in a row the blue birds have used that house but it's a lot.

Coon family is still doing good. They still get their nightly feeding of dog food with vanilla wafers and peanut butter. Still about 55 pounds of crunchy dog good every two and half days, plus hundreds of vanilla wafers a week. I forget how many bags we go through, but it seems like I counted them and reported on the Porch it was a 1000 a week I think. We still feed them in 3 shifts. Different ones come at different times. In fact, we had baby fuzz balls out there the other night. I figure we've got 30-40 in all that come during the night total. Anyway, we still have the fatest racoons and possum around!

I was walking through the house last night and noticed something at the door. I thought it was one of our cats but was a coon. We have one that comes to the door and looks in to let us know he's there if the food isn't out. That's funny. I opened the door and told him to wait a minute, and he stands right there while I go fix the trays and come back out. What a hoot.

Our oldest son off at college just had spring break last week. He brought home one of those pet bunnies with big floppy ears. He always wanted a bunny. Anyway, we're keeping it for a couple of weeks and Mrs. RR is already fattening that thing up.

And we had a stay kitten show up a few months ago. I told Mrs. not to feed it........ but she did. Now we have another cat. Let's see, we have 2 big dogs, 3 cats, 2 guinea pigs, and a bunny rabbit, in addition to the outside critters!

All else is fine, John. I can't believe the first quarter of the year is almost gone. Work has been fast. Been on the road a lot. Mrs. RR and I are trying to spend more time in Colorado, even if it's just a 3 day (Fri-Sun) weekend.

Fantastic on your weekend with your sons and the cub scouts. What a neat camp-out! Ya know, they will never forget that as long as they live, and neither will you. Quality time. Precious. Sounds like you got some priorities in order, my Friend.

Hey Clap,

Hope you had a great Easter too. That sounds like a fine trip you had with your sons; any extended time we have with our kids is worth our while.

My extra time lately has changed from coaching 8th grade girls hoops to 2nd grade girls softball. Talk about a switch!

You following the NCAA tourney? What a great weekend this was. Kentucky/Michigan State may be the best game I've seen since Kentucky/Duke in 1992 (Laettner's buzzer beater after Grant Hill's baseball pass).
