TI at DoCoMo for 3G
My understanding is that DoCoMo is backing two open OS solutions - symbian with their own UI platform and Linux - and plan to start ramping 3G phones on these platforms this year and over time phase out proprietary OS phones. TI is the symbian chipset supplier, while Linux I think is handled by Renesas - and who knows if/when Qualcomm can get a supply agreement here. Sanyo were pushing hard for business using Qualcomm's 6250, but have not got anywhere yet.
