Bush won by lying to Americans, and by using the war and terrorism as scare tactics. So what if he won? He lied and cheated to get there. And he is only safe from impeachment so long as the rightwing controls congress. That could change next year. Once Bush regained power he showed his true face by promoting all kinds of rightwing programs most people find noxious. Also many of his campaign claims have been exposed as lies. Bush won the election because 55,000 voters in Ohio went his way, but only barely. Also, according to Christopher Hitchens 30-40 thousand votes were stolen by the GOP in Ohio. There was plenty of fraud there. Also the SWiftVets were 100% liars who heavily influenced Ohio. That ugly smear campaign shall come back and haunt the rightwing just like Tom Delay's "murder" claims are now. All in the same big Pandora's Box of lies, corruption and subversion. The key to Bush's downfall will be the disintegration of the rightwing so-called Christian block. They are already split 50-50 on the Schiavo case. 50% of them think it's outrageous that the feds would interfere in a private family matter. That goes to the heart of conservatism. Bush has betrayed half of his own base. And Delay is a goner.
