Not ambiguous, just recognizing that life is complex, and decisions about important matters can be complex, too.

It's ok to do something that would otherwise be wrong if you have a good reason, as an example, using birth control pills as contraception is contrary to Catholic dogma, but if a woman has heavy, irregular menstrual cycles and her physician prescribes them to regulate her cycles, it's ok to use them, and if that regulates conception that's ok as long as it's an unintended consequence. But you can't fool God.
