You are probably right but there is something about the diversity in the place that lends itself to a pluralist solution rather than 100 competing ministates. Add English language, British democratic tradition, regional economic growth that soon will include Pakistan along with the geopolitics of South Asia and who knows. Could start as a confederation for example.
The fact that our current experience is the break up of larger entities does not automatically mean that this will be the trend everywhere. US aint shrinking and neither will China so maybe thats a better lesson going forward. I would love to see another USA in Africa for example. But in any case i am just thinking outloud and I am not naive. Mike
