"Chinese economic growth has created a vortex of resource use that is sustainable only if China can secure resources from other countries -- "

Chinese imperialism with a friendly face. And the US has to make sure that chinas desire for resources doesnt trample on the rights of independent states along the way. The fact that china helps others is a good thing but what happens when the good relations sour because the client state feels that china is taking advantage?? It is very tricky business.

Very well said GST. There's an old saying...you catch more bears with honey than vinegar.

The Bush methods reek of vinegar.

Confucious say: Man who is too busy making friends has few enemies.
