Why does her brain function (or lack thereof) matter? Would it be wrong to pull the plug if she was merely paralyzed, and clearly competent to ask for assisted suicide?

PVS is what is specified in the Florida law--PVS, brain dead, and a third thing I'm too lazy to look up. If you get a diagnosis of PVS, you're good to go legally regardless of whatever other data Krauthammer may be searching for.
