The MarkIt can't handle that MU news. See all the excitement and euphoria?

The MU report should bode well for the "techs" tomorrow. MU closed at 10.12 today, and as I write this post, MU is now trading around the 10.45 area, a gain of 3+ percent.

First Call consensus going into tonight's release was for revenue of 1.22B and 0.15 earnings. Actuals of 1.308 and 0.17 exceed estimates by 7+ and 13+ percent respectively.

Until their pre announcement review of MU expected performance yesterday, CSFB had estimates of 1.18B revenue, and 0.05 earnings. Yesterday, in their preview, they raised those numbers to 1.23B and 0.11 respectively.

That's quite remarkable in particular considering that MU is late in introducing more profitable 2Gb NAND;
the following statement seems to be indicative why chip makers move aggressively towards 300mm

The majority of the production increase was attributable to improvements in manufacturing efficiencies across the Company's diversified memory portfolio and the ramp of the Manassas, Virginia 300mm wafer fab.
