I'm not talking about the Schiavo case as much as I am talking about general principles. I think the courts are prone to consider almost anything to be under their purview.


That's not true. Its not uncommon to have a court turn down an appeal. A prime example is the USSC turning down the Schiavo case. The court plays a very important role in our gov't and to restrict it in any way is to damage the American democracy.

Specifically in the Schiavo case, I don't see how it is an area where the Congress constitutionally has power, and I have not called for congressional intervention in this area.

Yes, I know.......Roe vs Wade more fits the bill for you. Unfortunately, your criticism of the Court's ruling is a weak one IMO.
