He's a tad late saying this.

My opinion all along is that Bush's major problem is his mouth. We should have told the Iraqi story, not ours. We should have disentangled our commercial interests from our humanitarian interests. But many people don't see it that way. As a result, quite a few Americans and Iraqis are dead, that didn't need to be.

On the bright side, this month seems to be quite an improvement, about the 2'nd or 3'rd lowest on record. And I like the arguing the Iraqis are doing wrt to forming their government. They obviously realise this government is worth fighting for, that it is not a puppet. Good!

I guess we all forget the importance of Powell's last comment. As much as I would like to shut out the irreverant attitudes of non-confrontal attitudes from the Left, I would never bother with these threads if everyone (or anyone for that matter) agreed with my point of view. In fact, 90% of my posts tend to run contrary to the person to which I am responding.

Doesn't it seem ironic that the entire post and repost dialogue is back and forth from left to right. Not too much in the way of on-going response from people that agree with the same point of view?

In reality, I think the unbelievable response to terror by means of force have left us all numb skulled. The schilling use of force to combat pockets of anti social behavior is completely regrettable to people on both sides.

I guess we are all trying to make our points of view make a difference. For the most part, I have gone to bed thinking that these bilateral arguments have made me surprised how well we can disagree on issues that are so black and white. We come back the next day to admire the tenacity of the people with whom we disagree so much.
