In I Thess. 4:16 I think we have another clue in the term "shout" or greek word keleusma . It is a cry of order or command and it is the same term used in the resurrection of Lazarus (John 11;43). No where in Revelation is this word used especially in use with any of the trumpet warnings.

It makes sense to me to see the same use of this term in I Thessslonians and also in the resurrection of Lazarus. And then to not see this term used in the Revelation verses is ever more telling.
