My GOP moderate friend works with Mitt Romney. He now sees the religious right and Bush/Delay wing of the party self-destructing and sees a chance for Mitt to be nominated and for the moderates to take back the GOP. McCain of course is the #1 moderate so Mitt would like to be a VP candidate. I don't see Pataki and Guliani making it. Frist has made a fool out of himself. Hagel is also a strong possibility, but McCain will probably trump him, fellow war heros. And now most Americans are wishing we had John Kerry in charge. I'll bet Kerry would win 60-40% now. Now that Bush has shown his true phoniness and wrongheadedness. Moderates are also alarmed at Bush's deficits and attacks on the environment. Many honest Republicans are environmentalists and fiscally responsible. Taxes aren't the worst thing in the world. The nation going broke is worse.
