In general I agree the energy pumps have not been as severe as the tech bubble pumps. This particular one was. The only recent tech pump I saw that was similar was Google and they were actually pretty much right about that (remarkable!).

Outside of a few exceptions like RJ, the street hasn't said anything positive about energy.

Why is it when GS comes out and says something positive it's a pump?

Where are these guys/gals going to make money this year? Not tech, not financials, not biotech, certainly not housing...what's the story going forward that can be "sold" to the masses? oh - gas prices are up, perhaps energy?

I've never worked for a brokerage but have been in sales most of my life. I can imagine the internal conference call at Goldman Sach's this morning.

Ok everyone, listen up. Our research team has come out with a report on energy. No need to read it but there are list of companies we want you to discuss with your customers......

Bonus's for the first quarter will be posted Monday. Good job for the folks downstairs pushing energy last quarter. Maybe we'll move you all up a few floors by fall..go get um..

LOL - this really is alot of fun

This could and will go on for longer than anyone beleives but as this month shows, it will be gut wrenching. Listening to CNBC this morning is good indicator as not many beleive GS either.
