<<I just finished taking my oldest to have her 4 wisdom teeth out.>>

I had my bottom wisdom teeth removed when I was in the 8th grade. Cut into 4 pieces and split apart. Took 45 minutes for the one I was scheduled for. I told them get the other now or I'm not coming back. An hour for the other one. I walked to my dad's store for a ride home and he was in the mood for golf and I was the caddy.

My mother showed up on the 7th hole, the oral surgeon had called and I was supposed to be in bed taking pain meds. Two years later they pulled my uppers since I had no lowers. The reason they pulled the lowers was because I had no uppers. If you ever need a hit on a dentist, I do them for free.

Yes, I did have my wisdom teeth out. Strangely, our mouths are not as big as they used to be, so we don't need all those pesky extra teeth that grow in the back. Wouldn't that be evidence of evolution, incidentally?

Is your daughter better today? It will probably take several days for her to feel really back to normal. It is such a right of passage, in a way, usually the most serious and painful medical procedure so far for young people.
