The question is "WHY" would they be so long and why would they resort to a report that they had to know would immediately bring public ridicule ? as Kodiakbull noted...sure helps the ANWR/Energy Bill now doesn't it ? This is very, very, very un-Goldman like behavior. Almost seems like they're delivering "talking points" for a bigger picture end game now doesn't it ? ;) America is going to use Oil Prices to bring China to heel on re-pegging their currency, on slowing their economy, in making strategic commodity/natural resource acquisition on both of our borders (Canada, So America), on going to DefCom 4 with Taiwan, on sabre rattling Japan, on free trade policy... etc etc etc. And imho; just bringing them to the negotiating table for some arm twisting is not the end game. We are going to ultimately use Oil to topple Communism. China is on the verge of social upheaval; crack it's economy (which is also extremely vulnerable here) and Tianimin Square will seem like a picnic gathering in comparison to what will come... Communist regimes in China & North Korea must fall.....along with the fundamentalist led Iran. Those 3 are in the NeoCon crosshairs as I type. Tic' Toc` George W Bush is not concerned with polls, or focus groups... he is a man on a mission driven by something that the poltical sociopath's of the Clinton-ilk simply do not understand....moral conviction and the will to exercise it regardless of the political cost. The War with China will not be fought militarially....it will be fought economically...and we will continue to see "very interesting" shot's across the bow from time to time... Today was just such an event. We will get our Energy Bill. We will get ANWR drilling. China's Communist Government be brought down. North Korea's Communist Government will be brought down. Iran's fundamentalist led regime will be brought down. Oil will be used to "brake" the US economy instead of having to ramp interest rates to levels causing a derivatives implosion (and Fannie & Freddie will be saved, the Housing Bubble will be deflated slowly and calmly) etc. Oil will be used to "break" the Chinese Economy toppling the Communist Regime...leading to the domino toppling of North Korea and Iran. A Temporary Envirnoment of High Oil & Gas Prices are the cost we'll all pay for all of the above....and the Bush & Cheney Oil Cronies; along with the Saudi's will reap a historic windfall...no coincidence there either imo. The Saudi Royals will hopefully use the windfall to finance their permanent exile...as the writing is on the wall for them as well. And given the alternatives; it's actually a very well structured win-win proposition for all parties involved. Even given the costs American's will pay; it will still be the bargain of the decade and the catalyst to a new era of Global Democracy, Peace and Economic Growth. PS: And what will the Goldman's of the world get out of all of this for shilling the use of Oil as an Economic WMD ? - how about all that Social Security Reform Money ! ...like I said; a win-win for everyone. When in doubt....FOLLOW THE MONEY ~ ...and if there's one thing I do and do well: It's following the money ~ $lider
