I don't see that they properly asked for it

From what I heard of their most recent submission to the federal appeals court, it sounded like they may finally have been on the right track. But I haven't come across the transcript of that so I don't know.

I, too, an aghast at how judges are being treated. I thought they just intimidated judges in places like Colombia.

Initially I think you are right the Schindlers were vastly outclassed in the legal depr. and sadly, the facts that were in that trial and the facts LEFT OUT of that trial apparently never could be reviewed. Ie all the appeals courts ever did EVEN AFTER the Congress and the President passed a specific law for Terri was review the PROCESS and not the factual situation. From what I have been led to believe, the past few years the Schindlers have had very good attorneys provided I presume by various right to life organizations.
As to judges, my beef lies basically with the original Judge Greer who chose to IGNORE much testimony including sworn affadavits if it didnt agree with HIS preordained acceptance of the FACTS. I believe this is one of the reasons his own Church threw him out, and if he isnt impeached I suspect he will never win another election.
Frankly, I myself see no problem with opening the Federal Court system in a case like this, since I have a very low opinion of the Circuit Courts in this state based upon personal observation over many years. I am not saying all judges are stupid but I sure have seen my fair share as I used to serve as Expert Witness in my field in the past. The Federal system is head and shoulders over the state.
As to Jeb Bush, I believe you are very mistaken as to his intentions. Jeb was involved in this case FOR YEARS long before Terri was a household name. If Jeb has a weakness it is his Compassion. I do not think for one minute he involved himself in this for political reasons. But, he has come to learn that others that he would need to win may not feel the same compassion that he does, a lesson learned. jdn
