OT ... Lizzie, re "If I drove a honda civic I would be seen as "cheap" by the people I drive around for work"

Get the Lexus RX 400h Hybrid SUV ... and you definitely won't be seen as cheap. MSRP is over $48K. hybridcars.about.com

"Internet study finished -- after 7 years" (How bizarre)

"In the intervening period, Google emerged to dominate the Web, technology executives made and lost billions, lawyers shut down Napster over music piracy, high-speed Internet connections soared and the number of Web addresses climbed from 2.2 million to more than 65 million. The job of commerce secretary, the top U.S. official responsible for overseeing the study, turned over three times."

RE: "If I drove a honda civic I would be seen as "cheap" by the people I drive around for work"

They won't be there for you when you retire so who cares what they think.

If you're their vendor, they might think cheap is good.

But seem to recall the Honda isn't very safe, while Lexus has one of the safest records and seemingly 1/10th the maintenance repairs of a bmw. Safety and reliability are its strong cards.

We spend $300B on war and how much does this economy waste every day oil prices inch up? $100M is a drop in the bucket towards solving something that critically impacts everyone. Was glad to see the GM deal. They should increase the funding into energy alternatives such as this by a factor. Battery supplies apparently are holding hybrid supply back according to a poster.

They should tax gas to make hybrids the more economical choice for consumers, while giving incentives for people to buy hybrids.
