If there was ever a topic on which you and I have talked it to death, it's the political composition of university faculties and whether it actually matters. It is classically one of those topics on which we clearly will just have to agree to disagree.

There are so many topics here that are conflated into your left-right distinction that would need to be explored. And we've done that with most.

No doubt we'll both continue to post what we think.

However, one of the biggest mistake being made is the view that Summers problems at Harvard can be reduced to his political differences with the faculty.
